拭き残し→Aピラー 5.5cm、運転席前の扇形 15.5cm、助手席前の三角形 3.5cm、室内からのワイパー見え有り
2013年9月6日に発売された3世代目のフィットです。
先代の2世代目フィットは「助手席前の三角形」が残りませんでした。これはBカテゴリーの車両としては非常に珍しく素晴らしいので2007年の「日本ワイパー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」を受賞しました。
この3世代目のフィットでも更なる進化を期待していたのですが、「Aピラーの拭き残し」が7→5.5cmへ減ったものの、「助手席前の三角形」は3.5cmも出てしまいました。残念ながら「日本ワイパー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」の受賞はなりませんでした。
フィットはフロントガラスが縦方向に長いのと、座る位置が高めなので、フロントガラス上端にあるADASカメラを拭くためにどうしても上側の拭き取りを重視した部品レイアウトにならざるを得ません。これはSUVやミニバンと同じ苦しみです。
初代から最新までの4世代、20年分の進化、あるいは同じBカテゴリーのハッチバック各車と見比べてみて下さい。

“Japan Wiper of the Year” evaluation criteria
1) Unwiped area at A Pillar side; 5.5cm
2) Fan-shaped unwiped area in front of the driver seat; 15.5cm
3) Triangle unwiped area in front of the passenger seat; 3.5cm

This is the 3rd generation Fit, which released in September 2013 in Japan.
The 2nd generation Fit did not have “Triangle unwiped area in front of the passenger seat”. This is a very rare and wonderful B category cars, so the 2nd generation Fit won the 2007 “Japan Wiper of the Year”.
The 3rd generation Fit was expected to evolve further. However, although the “Unwiped area at A Pillar side” was reduced from 7 to 5.5cm, the “Triangle unwiped area in front of the passenger seat” was 3.5cm. Unfortunately, the 3rd generation Fit did not win the “Japan Wiper of the Year”.
The Fit is that the front windshield is long in the vertical direction, and the driver sitting position is little bit high from the floor, so in order to wiper the ADAS front camera at the top of the front windshield, it have to set the wipers that emphasizes wiping the upper side. This is the same suffering as a SUV or minivan.
Please compare it with 4 generations from the 1st to the latest, 20 years of evolution. Or each hatchback cars in the same B category.

The Fit rear wiper was placed on the colored resin part upper the tailgate license plate, from 1st generation to 3rd generation. It is placed on rear windshield for the first time in the 4th generation.
If a black wiper is placed on the exterior colored part, the wiper will stand out strongly. So it is made inconspicuous by placing it on black colored glass. This is also a design that pursues “Comfort”, which is the design theme of the 4th generation Fit.
By the way, the direction of the rear wiper is consistently on the left side from the 1st generation to 4th generation. When the driver of a right hand drive car, looks back and looks behind the car, driver mainly looks at the left side. The initial position of the wiper should be on the left side -other side of the driver- to ensure that the glass on the left side is clean.
