The Toyota Corolla Cross is a crossover version of the Toyota Corolla sedan. The daring compact crossover carries the ‘Corolla’ nameplate’s legacy of dependability, fuel efficiency, safety, and value.
Toyota will offer the new Corolla Cross in three trim levels: GX, GXL, and Atmos, with a 2.0-liter petrol engine with front-wheel drive or hybrid power with front- or all-wheel drive.
A TNGA-C platform with a high line of sight and robust exteriors underpins the Toyota Corolla Cross. The SUV has a gloss black finish grille with LED lights flanked by black body accents. The Corolla Cross has a confident and robust stance thanks to its imposing yet sleek front fascia. The SUV has distinct character lines around the wheel arches, making them appear wider, and the trapezoidal wheel arches, combined with black cladding, give the SUV a strong personality. The Corolla Cross gets a wraparound taillamp with LEDs and an integrated spoiler at the back. The 17-inch steel and 18-inch alloy wheels are also standard on the compact crossover.
The 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross features single- or dual-zone automatic climate control as well as rear-seat air conditioning vents. The SUV also comes with SofTex-trimmed seating, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, and heated front seats. The second row is also split 60/40, and the Corolla Cross has a 7-inch Multi-Information Display with digital instrumentation as well as an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen. The Corolla Cross gains connected features as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Wireless smartphone charging is also standard on top models.
The petrol variants are powered by a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder engine producing 126kW and 202Nm – nearly identical to the RAV4 and Corolla hatch/sedan – mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Front-wheel-drive hybrid models, meanwhile, combine a 112kW/190Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an 83kW/206Nm electric motor for a total output of 146kW – the first 2.0-litre hybrid Toyota sold in Australia.
All-wheel-drive models get a 30kW electric motor on the rear axle and multi-link independent rear suspension instead of the standard torsion-beam setup.
The base Corolla Cross GX costs $33,000, while the GX Hybrid costs $35,000.
The GXL costs $36,750, while the GXL Hybrid in 2WD and AWD costs $39,250 and $42,250, respectively.
The Corolla Cross Atmos is priced at $43,550, with the Atmos 2WD Hybrid priced at $46,050 and the flagship Corolla Cross Atmos AWD Hybrid priced at $49,050.
