Toyota has surprised the world’s media by unveiling a facelift for the venerable 2024 Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series – with the option of 2.8-litre diesel four-cylinder power, updated exterior, and new tech features.
There will be two 1GD-FTV diesel engines in the updated 70 Series, including a naturally aspirated V8.
The base unit is a turbocharged 2.8-liter four-cylinder, paired with a six-speed automatic, with 201 hp (150 kW) and 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) of torque.
The only other powertrain to report is a 4.5-liter diesel V8, aimed at some export markets, with 202 hp (151 kW) and 316 pound-feet (429 Nm) of torque on tap.
The 2024 Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series will be available in Japan next winter, after arriving in select international showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2023. Sadly, this amazing truck won’t be making its way to America.
Local pricing and potential details on availability in other markets will be announced at a later date.
