まさにゼロクラウン
16代目クラウン クラウンクロスオーバーを体感する事ができました。今はレクサスが存在しLS（セルシオ）の方が日本車のラグジュアリーカーのフラグシップのような存在であるが、レクサスが存在する前はクラウンが日本車のフラグシップのような存在であったのであろう。実車に対面しスバルのアウトバックやメルセデスベンツEクラスオールテレインのようなインチアップされた巨大に目を見張る。インチの大きいタイヤ ホイールは貫禄抜群で存在感を大きく見せる役割を果たしているように映る。ボディカラーは2色を組み合わせたバイトーン。ブラック プレシャスブロンズ 車はよくデザインされていて 上質的 官能的 躍動的 高揚感といった感覚が伝わってくる。内装は上質で滑らかなレザーのシートが印象的。触れてみると手触りの感触が忘れられない。障子などの和紙に手を触れたかのようだ。エンジンをスタートさせるがハイブリッドのため、システムが起動するのみ。車は静かに動き出しスムーズにストレスなく加速し旋回し停止する。クロスオーバーとの事で視界の良さが印象的。2.5L ハイブリッド 235ps。6速AT。走行時も停止時も室内に振動や衝撃は、ほぼなく、遮音材や吸音材が的確に使用されていると思われる。風切音を防ぐミラーも貢献している。サフペンション フロント マクファーソンストラット式 リヤ マルチリンク式を採用 。空気抵抗を軽減するため標準で床下にグリルシャッターを装備している。走りは、とても滑らかで静粛性に富んでいる。これこそがクラウンなのであろう。450Lのラゲッジスペースはかなり広大で圧巻の一言。以前、「ゼロクラウン」という言葉を耳にした事がある。今回のクロスオーバーを皮切りにセダン エステート スポーツが登場するが、全く新しいクラウン、クラウンでないような感じがした。まさにゼロクラウン。
